The race started at day break in the dusty little town of Alamo about an hour north of Las Vegas. With another 3rd position start we knew we had to push hard off the start and get out front early or we would be eating some serious Nevada dust for the next 6 hours.

With the weather outside a cool 30 degrees it was hard not to notice the numb fingers and face. An occasional hand on the exhaust or engine to warm up before the start made it bearable.
The start was under way about 6am and we were ready to roll. The first few sections were very fast averaging about 60 mph to the first pit. Still in 3rd at pit #1 Dave Scott jumped on to go to the next 40 miles to the historic town of Caliente. We managed to pull time on the leaders and make a pass for 2nd. Danny jumped on at pit #3 and about 10 miles later we took over the lead.

After 100 miles of eating dust we had some clean air and we were able to pick up the pace. The race course started heading into the mountains of Eastern Nevada and the roads went from being wide open to tight more technical and we knew this is where our quad would shine. We took full advantage and pushed hard to get a 12 minute lead at the 200 mile mark. At this point we knew we had to start pacing ourselves and our bike for the finish. I came into the last pit to hand over the raines to Dave one last time. Our pit crew went over the bike for the final run and he was off to the finish.
We finally arrived at the finish line to see that we won 1st Overall ATV by almost 5 minutes and that we took over the points lead.
