GNCC Round 3 – Steele Creek Race Report
Coming into the race there was a lot that had to happen to be “ready” to race. Thanks to Steve and Jay from Impact Solutions, I was able to get my rear Elka shock adjusted and valved a closer to my riding style. With cooler conditions and the sun shining, I knew that it was going to be a great day for racing. As soon as the green flag flew, I knew that my Waynesburg Yamaha 24v system was going to have me contending for the holeshot. Being first into the woods, I had nothing but open track for the first mile. After getting behind a stuck rider, I moved back to 3rd place, but continued to fight back and forth for the first 3 laps between 3rd and 5thposition. Ultimately finishing the race in 5th position, but being consistent through the beginning of the season paid off as I am the current points leader in my class.
The track was single line in most cases and began to get whooped out in places, which is where my Elka suspension shines. I know that I can ride harder into the corner, and between my Elka Suspension, Lonestar Arms, and Kenda tires wherever I turn my Fasst Company Flexx bars the bike is going to go.
Having an amazing team is the key to my success. Vigilant Vet Racing is always there for whatever I need whether its motivation as I pass the pits or fuel in the bike. I know that I can count on them. There are others that I would like to thank such as Streamline Brakes, Evans coolant, VP Fuel, ODI Grips, Fly Racing, GoPro, Precision Stabilizers, Tres Carls Racing, and Ricky Doores for allowing me a place to practice, and most importantly my wife Brandi and Sons (Dakota and Sage) for their love and support.
