Rosedale, IN (July 25, 2020) Polaris RZR/Yokley Racing Driver, John Barnes turned up the heat this past Saturday at round 4 of the Mid West Cross Country. With fenders flying, Barnes sealed the deal with a win. Yokley Racing is well on its way to having the Pro XP be a dominant machine for them. This event marks 4 races in a row with podium finishes.
Saturday was very hot with high humidity. Just standing outside was like a sauna with sweat rolling off your body. Hydration was key. Barnes drank tons of Gatorade and water starting in the early am preparing for the weekend event.
Barnes drew a row 2 start meaning he would take off 30 seconds after the first row of five side by sides and race on time adjustment. Turned out, Barnes did not need the time adjustment. He took off almost last on row 2 on the holeshot. He passed his entire row and most of row 1 on the first lap. He physically took the lead of the race on lap 2 and never looked back. The Pro XP put on a side by side clinic putting good distance on the field.
Barnes commented, “We made some shock changes to our Elka Suspension at the Double E Racing testing facility in Louisiana in June. I’ve been looking forward to the chance to put the shock testing to work in a race setting.” A combination of excessive heat mud holes, tight wooded trails, and open fields gave the Pro XP a bit of variety. It dominated in all three.
