Quad racing in Australia is relatively new on a professional level, but the name “Chris Brenton” is synonymous with the Elite level of the sport.
Brenton Racing started Chris in the 2003 season as a young 16 year old on the Yamaha Banshee fitted out with Elka compression remote reservoir shocks, moving into the big league a year later on the YFZ450, racing the Prestigious WA state Championship series & winning the #1 plate, he chose to run the Elka Compression and rebound with Pre-load shocks upping the ante for all racers.
Chris Brenton was hand selected by The Honda Shop as the rider to bring Honda Australia a National title, partnering the Honda 450R, Phil Tomlin Racing Products with Elka Elite Quad Rated Shocks proved to be a winning formula for Honda and Brenton, who cruised through the 2005 & 2006 Nationals leaving everyone in his wake. Back to back National Titles!
2007 would be marked on Brenton’s calendar as the year, “what doesnt break you will only make you stronger!” recovering from a series of crippling injuries, Chris started the season literally on the back foot, his tenacity was seen by all, and a new appreciation of just how special this young rider was. Now only 20 years of age and encouraged by Brenton Racing, on board the Honda 450ER with Phil Tomlin Racing Products and Elka Elite shocks the youngster pushed himself to another WA State Title in the hardest fought Pro Quad series in the Nation.
The National title would elude Brenton in 2007 as a freak broken axle and a DNF in the first race, gut wrenchingly sore his 3rd title hopes diminish.
Brenton, Honda, Phil Tomlin Racing & Elka a force in Quad Motocross look forward to the 2008 season of Motocross. “Teaming up the Elka Factory shocks with the system 3 steering dampner will fine tune the Honda for Racing, “I’m looking forward to the 2008 with quite a few Goals I’d like to achieve. Besides the Professional atmosphere of Quad Motocross, coaching up and coming Junior quad riders has become an enjoyment, knowing I can pass on my knowledge not only in race technique but Bike, fine tuning and Elka Shock set-up to get the juniors riding at their best”.
Chris Brenton will contest State and National events across the country in 2008, which promises to be one of the best yet.
