Anza, CA Aug. 3-5, 2012 – Cahuilla Creek Motocross in Anza, CA hosted round 7 of WORCS racing and the second to final round for youth rider Kyler Thau of Chico, CA. The track conditions were consistent of what to expect with a challenging off road racing venue and the August weather demanded a well hydrated and conditioned athlete if you wanted to stay competitive and avoid heat exhaustion.
The weekend would start off with a disappointment in the 70 Production class with mechanical issues and a DNF, but fortunately things turned around the rest of the weekend and Kyler was able to secure wins in the 8-15 Sport and 70 Open. His helmet mounted Go-Pro would provide amazing footage of the win in the 8-15 Sport class, locking up his points and securing a championship in 2012. He is holding an undefeated season in that class for the first time in WORCS ATV history.
Kyler’s Maxxis/Flexx Co/Stage 5 Elka Suspension equipped machines have been strong in the 2012 season. In less than 6 weeks, WORCS Round 8 will take place on September 14-16th at Honolulu Hills Raceway in Taft, CA. The final round will determine Kyler’s placement for the championship for the 70 Open and 70 Production classes. With strong finishes in Taft, Kyler sits in a good position to have a truly epic 2012 WORCS season!
Next up for Kyler Thau is a trip to Hurricane Mills, TN for round 10 of the AMA ATV Motocross Championship Series at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch where the competition will be extreme and the discipline a different style of racing from what Kyler is used to. A Loretta’s race report will follow….
