Fallbrook CA 1/23/2011 – Dustin Nelson (#94) Yamaha/Roll Design/Elka Suspension captures 2nd place at the opening round of the 2011 WORCS ATV series held at Honolulu Hills MX in Taft California on January 23, 2011.

Dustin Nelson earned a 4th Overall from the 2010 WORCS series and came out strong for the 2011 WORCS ATV series capturing a 2nd Place Finish for the opening round. The weather and track were ideal conditions for the 1st WORCS ATV round.

Honolulu Hills has been the ending round of the series for the past years and is commonly very dusty. However, that would not be the case this year as the mountain sides were green, weather was great and dusty conditions were very low. The track was very high speed, a mix of some motocross, huge jumps, high speed and tight technical sections.

Doug Roll and Erik Westergaard from Roll Design/Elka Service Center were trackside to help out with the challenging setups needed for the track conditions. Roll/Elka Service Center track support rig was also onsite for the 2011 WORCS ATV season to assist riders’ setup their quads for the race (on any Roll Design or Elka Suspension equipped quads). Elka Suspension newly released Stage 5 shocks can also be seen on Dustin Nelson’s Yamaha GYTR YZF450R.

Saturday Pro Practice would be the first time riders would get to ride the entire course and get a good qualifying time for gate pick. Nelson was the 4th Fastest for the day giving him a great gate pick for the ever tricky first turn.
Nelson would quickly take the second spot during the 1st lap of the Main Event as he chased down the leader Can-Am rider Jeremie Warnia (#62), followed by last years WORCS Champion Josh Frederick (#1). Uncontested for most of the race, Nelson would clip a banner on the last lap which closed the gap back to 3rd Position. Losing his 10 second gap over 3rd Place would setup a last lap battle to the checkers between himself and Frederick. Nelson held off Frederick claiming the 2nd Place spot for the opening round of the WORCS ATV season.

“The Elka Stage 5’s and Roll Suspension worked great, I can’t thank them enough!”-Exclaimed Nelson after the race.

Roll Design/Elka Suspension dominated the Pro Division with (7) seven different riders in the Pro Class for the opening round, Dustin Nelson, Josh Row, Beau Baron, Davi Haagsma, Jarrod McClure, John Shafe, Robbie Mitchell, and Mike Cafro. Roll Design riders finished 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 &11 respectively.

WORCS heads to Primm, Nevada Feb 26-27 for the second round. Be sure to stop by the Roll Design/Elka Service Center rig and cheer on your favorite rider during the next round.
