We are now just a few short days away from the 2018 ATV Motocross National Championship season opener inside Daytona International Raceway. Earlier today it became public knowledge that former AMA ATV Pro Rookie of the Year, Cody Janssen, plans to begin the championship competing in the 25+ division. Janssen credited a few of his top sponsors with helping him make the decision and said that school and lack of seat time played a key role. The 2-time National Champion made it clear, however, that he does not think his days in the ATV Pro Class are over.
“I cannot wait to get out there [to Daytona], I’ve never been so excited to go racing! I have been working so hard this offseason in so many ways, I truly feel better than ever – but I’ve had limited ride-time compared to past years. I have the best support group around me that I’ve ever had, I’m in the best shape of my life, I am in the perfect place right now. For me, It doesn’t matter what class I’m in, I’m going to the races because I love ATV Motocross. I’m going to represent my sponsors at the highest level and hopefully win some races along the way…It’s time to go racing, I’m ready.”
-Cody Janssen #25
As Cody mentioned, he believes this is the best racing program he’s ever put together with major additions like Swartfager Farms, Knox Country Farm Supply, CST Tires, Trimble’s Cycle Center, Ameriprise Financial, Atlas Brace, Bell Helmets, Klink Equipment, and the Dean and Pauline Janssen Family; increased support roles by SSI Decals, Impact Solutions, Goldspeed, and others; and major mainstays like Thor MX, 100%, Elka Suspension, Valvoline, Pivot Works, FMF, Hinson Clutch Components, E-Z Up, D.I.D, and many more. It also wouldn’t be possible without the support from companies like CV4, Walsh RaceCraft, Fourwerx Carbon, Renthal, Rath Racing, DT1, The Program, 4arm Strong, Vertex Pistons, Energy Release, Precision Powder, Cliff Cox at Oshkosh Tattoo and Good Girl Piercing, DP Brakes, Midwest Restoration, All Balls Racing, Pro-Tec Racing, Hot Cams, Sunstar, Cylinder Works, Works Connection, Evans Coolant, The Stanfield Family at Napa Auto Parts of Peru, Indiana; Edwards Racing, Reynolds Racing, Galfer, Corey Garrison at Parts Unlimited, 1st Endurance, Risk Racing, Motion Pro, Heartland Building Co., Karsyn Tucker and Family, and so many others including his mechanics Dan Binder, Joel Janssen, and Tom Culshaw.
Cody Janssen loves ATV Motocross and he represents all the right things about the sport that we love. All these great individuals and companies believe in Cody and the #25, without them none of this would be possible. The season kicks off Tuesday March 13th at Daytona International Speedway, be sure to keep your eye on the #25 in the 25+ Class!
