Lucerne, Ca. 4/14/2013- The fourth round of the 2013 AMA National Hare and Hound Series took place in the Johnson Valley OHV area in Lucerne Valley California, with DirtFirst Racing’s Andy Lagzdins taking his Duncan Racing powered Honda TRX450R to a wire to wire victory and overall ATV honors. The win is the first for Lagzdins in the 2013 season. Lagzdins commented on the podium that he had switched to the latest Stage 5 Elka shocks before the event, as well as changes to his motor setup in order to get back on the top step of the podium. “It was a little close, we only had one day of testing a few days before the race,” said Andy after the race. ” By the end of the bomb run I knew we had made the right changes to the quad.”

admin-ajax1.phpThe 40 mile long course was laid out by the SoCal Motorcycle Club, and proved to be challenging for many of the ATV racers. “I barely made it through a couple of the rocky canyons, and I thought for sure there were going to be some bottlenecks,” said Lagzdins after the race. “I have to thank ITP, TireBalls, and ARace wheels for getting me to the finish without any flats.”

Honda-mounted Scott Schmidt finished second and Yamaha rider Bill Markel rounded out the podium. The win puts Lagzdins in the Championship lead ahead of Schmidt and Utah racer Colt Brinkerhoff. The next National Hare and Hound race will take place on April 28th at the Vikings MC event in Lucerne Valley, California.
