It’s finally come to the season end with the final round of the Scottish championship . On top form and fresh from the final round of the Northern championship the weekend before which Ayrton won IN STYLE going 1-1-1 and 3 fastest lap times and the overall championship. He had put his Dnf behind him from the previous Scottish and was ready to make it hard for Stuart Kircharz to keep hold of his 13 point lead all though it would be tough as Cardenden mx park is Stuarts local practice track . The track was well graded and with multiple lines round most of the corners and through the 2 roller sections it was all set for some good racing .
Race 1 and the top four went into the first turn wheel to wheel Stuart coming out 1st Ayrton 4th NOT what we wanted ! half a lap later and it was plain to see Stuarts track knowledge wasn’t paying as he slipped to 3rd , Ayrton sat behind at a safe distance and worked a couple of lines then BINGO Stuart fell for it ,and tried to cover the inside line before the rollers Ayrton powered his 150 Janssen motor at full chat on the outside line with the superior ELKA Shocks soaking everything up and straight up into second leaving Stuart down in 4th, Ayrton pulled another 4-5 seconds by the time they took the flag and 4 points off the championship leader . This would be our last chance as due to lack of water on the track and the paramedics complaining they couldn’t see marshals flags in some of the dusty turns the Clerk of the Course stopped all racing ! So Ayrton had to settle for 2nd spot in the Championship. Ayrton commented ” I was feeling slightly dejected especially when I felt I had the pace to take it to the last race ,but the pace I had today was yet again down to the incredible support from my sponsors and there fantastic products I can’t thank you all enough ,and I can’t wait until next weekend in Texas at the Caleb Moore Atv Pro Challenge. “
