Beau Baron Finishes Second in Pro ATV at WORCS Final Rd in Primm
Atascadero, CA (10/24/2016) – CST’s Beau Baron ended the season with three top four finishes including a win in the SXS Unlimited class along with a second place finish in the Pro ATV season finale at Buffalo Bill’s Resort and Casino in Primm, NV. The runner-up finish in the season finale marked his ninth consecutive podium finish this year.
Baron won the first five races of 2016. Backing that up was a third-place effort, as well as three runner-up finishes. Baron had difficulties starting his Honda at the start of the race and drove through the entire field to score the podium.
“By the time I got my bike started, I was 30 seconds behind,” said Baron. “I knew I was going to have my hands full today trying to get to the front, but I came pretty damn close. It was a good battle.”
With sandy and rough conditions on the Primm track, Baron selected a different CST tire for the event. He said it made all of the difference in the race.
“These are the new CST HT Tires,” said Baron. “They are a little softer and sit a little flatter. They made all of the difference in the world. I was putting time on guys on the CORR track just because of these tires. The Elka shocks were great. Doug does a great job getting them dialed in.”
Baron also scored victory in the Pro Unlimited SXS race, as well as a fourth-place finish in Pro Production. Baron finished the Unlimited race with another competitor’s car hanging off his rear bumper.
“My CST Tires, Holz car and Sparks engine were great at the start,” said Baron, who finished second in Unlimited points. “Toward the end of the race, Bulloch hit a lapper and I caught up to him. We got into the Trophy Truck track and I passed him. Then we got into turn and a jump. He launched off of it and into the rear of my car. It wasn’t far from the finish line. He kept the gas on, so I pretty much dragged him across the finish line. It was a pretty crazy finish. Getting a win to end the year is nice.”
Baron will return in 2017 in both WORCS SXS classes, as well as Pro ATV as he chases after a record sixth WORCS Pro ATV Championship.
