Bakersfield, CA (1/28/2016) – H&M Motorsports’ David Haagsma swept the entire racing weekend of Quad X ATV and Side by Side competition at Glen Helen Raceway, winning seven of the eight motos on the weekend to take home both overall wins in the Pro ATV and Pro SxS at the 2016 Quad X season opener doubleheader at Glen Helen.
Haagsma, grabbed several holeshots over the weekend with both his ATV and SxS, which credits to his Sparks Engine and Maxxis tire combination. On Sunday, Haagsma started at the rear of the pack in both Pro ATV motos to practice moving through the pack, and he proved he could do it by taking both moto wins once again for the defending Quad-X Pro ATV champion.
“It was a pretty good weekend,” – quipped Haagsma of the sweep. “The riding and the training are really paying off. I’m stoked to start off the season strong. I’m looking forward to carrying this into the WORCS race next weekend.”
Haagsma isn’t running a full West Coast racing season this year, and will focus most of his 2016 efforts in the AMA Pro ATV Motocross National Championship.
“I’ve been working very hard in the off season,” – said Haagsma. “Having a great group of sponsors behind me, including Maxxis, Sparks and Elka Suspension, is key to my success this year. I’m running several West Coast races early in the season to prep for later in the season. It’s going to be nice to carry this success into the rest of the season.”
Haagsma is ready to for his next WORCS race. Carrying the No. 1 Plate, Haagsma will compete in Round 2 as WORCS heads to Primm, NV. Make sure to watch as Haagsma hits Daytona International Speedway on March 8 for the AMA Pro ATV Motocross National Championship season opener.
