Felipe Vélez Race Report
This year Manlio Diaz and his Nephew Mario Diaz Team DLR from La Paz Baja California Sur & Felipe Velez, Stefano Caputo and the young 16 year old Jose Luis Meza Velez from Team Baja ATV Riders team up together to race this season.
Score international have great changes this year on the race course and it made this race very fun and hard. All the 11 teams on class 25 were very fast and very competitive.
Our quad was the first one on the start line with Manlio Diaz on board and the race went as planned but at mile 140 the swing arm bolt broke and had to stop. We got pass by 17a & 10a. The race is fast and to do a pit stop to change a bolt would make us lose the race so we took the risk to keep going like that and hope we will make it.
The Team made a great work to take care of the quad and finish with a broken bolt 10 miles before the finish line the engine cases broke… With Felipe Vélez on board we made it to the finish line with 9 minutes behind the leader 10a and 7 minutes from 17a. We got 3rd place and it looks like 10a Javier Robles win 1st place but after the GPS review they penalized 10a. Looks like the Score championship is going to stay in mexico in the class 25 with no factory support teams soo this will make this year a very fun championship to watch!
