Round 1 of the NEATV Racing series in Wallkill NY started out on a damp track, but soon dried out to bring some exciting racing.
All the hard work and preparation paid off as Pro AM Rookie Jayden Hickson got an average hotshot in Moto 1 of the Pro-am class, he was able to work his way up through the field to secure 4th.
By the time second Moto came around in the afternoon the track had dried out considerably, Jayden got the hole shot and held the lead for 2 laps, after a small mistake in a corner he had to settle for 2nd place for Moto 2, as Travis Moore got by mid race.
This put Jay on the podium in 3rd place overall for his first Pro Am race weekend.
Fifteen year old Lacey Hickson made her first appearance on a Walsh Honda 450 in the Women’s class as well. Battling a little too hard in Moto 1 put her over the edge of the table top after the first corner. This dropped her back to 8th after Moto 1…..By the time 2nd Moto came around she had put that behind her and ripped the hole shot and never looked back, placing 1st in the second Moto. Giving her a 5th overall for the weekend.
With round 2 coming up in 2 weeks, Team Hickson will be busy in preparation getting the bikes ready for another successful racing weekend. A huge thanks to all our sponsors which makes all this success possible….
