Leon Beda on board his Yamaha YFZ 450 managed to put out the fourth fastest time during qualification on the Asham Woods track in Frome, Somerset on Sunday may 24th, thus giving him a good spot at the gate in order to reach the holeshot in a good position.
Conditions were difficult because of the heat and dust, so Beda rode more defensively to keep Macbeth at bay and finish in the fifth spot, which in turn consolidated enough points to give him the fourth overall.
In the latter stages of race two, the dust became a problem for the riders but this did not refrain Leon to make a bold attempt of overtaking KTM UK’s Team Rider Paul Holmes and grab the third spot, but Holmes was solidly defending his line on the steep hill in front of Beda who had to brake hard which cost him several bike lengths and his momentum.
Beda was able to ride hard all day long and with confidence thanks to the ElkaLaeger suspension.
Leon Beda is now concentrating on taking third place in the Championship.
