The Unadilla National in New Berlin, NY, saw a complete domination of Elka sponsored rider Joel Hetrick over the course of both Pro Class Motos, placing him in the top spot of the Championship for the first time this season! It was his 4th overall win of the season.
With the top qualifier position for Moto 1, he was able to secure the holeshot and led all the way to the end, with an extensive gap over the rest of the pack at the start of lap 3. He got the first win of the day without a sight of competition.
Hetrick also started Moto 2 with the holeshot award, but with at-the-time championship leader Chad Wienen right on his tail, the race was harder fought this time around! Hetrick still finished first in Moto 2 for a 1-1 weekend and as the new championship leader with a 5 points lead!
There are two rounds left to the season, next weekend of action is Round 10 at Redbud MX in Buchanan, MI on July 29-30.
