Hey just back from the first round of USA Cycling National Gravity Tour. This was the official start to the 2010 USA Cycling National Mtb downhill race season. The race was out in the Santa Ynez Valley area. The hills where really green and there where lots of wine vineyards.
This was the first stop on my schedule for the 2010 race season. I started the season off great with a podium finish at 3rd place. It was a great confidence booster for me headed into the season with starting it off with a podium spot. It felt great to step up on the podium with the top pros of our country.
The Elka Stage 5 rear shock ran amazing all weekend long. I didn’t have to change much on the shock other than adding a little more low speed compression so i didn’t have much pedaling bob and it would run higher in the travel. Also I took out some rebound, cause it had flat loose off camber corners and I wanted to have maximum amount of traction in the flat corners.
Great way to start the season!
