After a successful 2014 quad racing season 14yrs old Ayrton Knowles has been training hard all winter to be in tip top physical condition ready for his move up to the very competitive 250cc open class (14-17yrs ). Armed with a brand new highly tuned 250 fuel injected Honda quad Ayrton was ready to race . Round 1 British championship Ayrton nicked qualifying on the very last lap ,with the first gate pick he lead the first race from the start until the engine stopped halfway round the last lap ! but because he had lapped up to 9th place he still picked up 22 points . unfortunately the problem wasnt sorted for race 2 and the engine stopped again on the first lap ! With the problem rectified ayrton took the 3rd race win from start to finish ,giving him 9th overall 40 points off the leader .
With a few adjustments to the quad and a week later at the Northern championship he was in devastating form and won all 3 races from start to finish . sinse the the good form has continued and he has won 5 out of 9 races and finished 2nd in the other 4. The 40 point deafassit has now been turn around into a 11 point lead in the British championship and the Northern championship he holds a healthy 86 point lead , with only a third of the season gone there is still a very long way to go ,so every thing is still to fight for . Ayrtons next race is rd 4 of the British championship at Foxhills moto parc near swinden wiltshire this sunday 24th may .
