June 15-17, 2012 Enterprise, Utah: Round 6 of the World off Road Championship Series headed to the South-West corner of Utah to On the Edge Raceway. The temperatures were well into the SC and the windy, rocky and dusty track conditions didn’t hesitate to break even the best WORCS athletes down and launch riders off their machines. This track quickly got the reputation as being the most challenging track of the series. Amateur riders were not brought thru the creek crossings like the Pro, Pro-Am and Production A riders, but the track still provided some challenging off-road areas.
This would not stop Kyler Thau 224y of Chico, CA from locking up his FOURTH series sweep in his 3 classes for 2012. In the 70 Production, Kyler is holding a 19 point lead and continues to remain undefeated in the Sport 8-15 yr. class. GoPro Hero2 cameras were placed both forward and rear facing at this round and provided some excellent footage of the race! The Elka Stage 5’s shocks that were constructed for his Apex 70, again made an obvious difference in the landings and cornering when watching the Stage 5’s perform over other comparable suspension systems.
With a 6 week summer break, Round 7 will bring us to Anza, California for the second to last round of the 2012 season.Kyler will head directly from Anza, California to Hurricane Hills, Tennessee and ATV Dirt Days for the final ATV Mx Nationals race at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch. His first time racing back East, he is looking forward to seeing how a WORCS rider will size up to the amazingly fast youth of the ATVA. A fundraiser to help pay for expenses from California to Tennessee and back has been set up on his Facebook page at Kyler Thau224y. Currently, he only has $800 of the estimated $4,000 needed for diesel fuel to drive back to Tennessee and return home to northern California. Kyler is excited to race Loretta’s and to show his 2012 sponsors that he is a youth rider to stand behind in the 2013 season!
NOTE FROM ELKA SUSPENSION: Kyler has a promising future in ATV racing. We have rarely seen such a young kid being so dominant. Kyler displays tons of potential and has a truly professional attitude towards his racing. If you can, make sure to go watch him race at a WORCS venue, words don’t describe how fast and smooth that kid really is. Please help him with his fundraiser campaign, he really deserves some support!
