Adelanto, California – May 11-13, 2012. Racetown 395 brought on the heat and some awesome racing for WORCS Round 5. The conditions were in the 90’s and testing the endurance of both the amateur and pro riders. Kyler Thau, 224y took his third 3 class sweep for the season, taking in the win on Saturday in the 70 Production and continued to remain undefeated in the Sport 8-15yr old class. Laying down the fastest lap times, Kyler was able to hold on to the lead in the Sport class after getting wild in the off-road section and rolling the quad a few times which brought him thru the checkered flag holding up his visor as it had partially ripped off his helmet. Amazing enough, it didn’t seem to phase him one bit and his Answer Racing gear has been protecting him well and its been put it to the test in the 2012 season.
Sunday morning Kyler took the 70 Open class win and the overall, edging out the competition in all heats for that race. With 15 races so far in 2012, Kyler has had a great season with 12 first place finishes. His Elka Suspension once again preformed amazingly well and it makes a notable difference in not just how the machine handles but even how it looks to observers as several spectators commented how smooth his landings look and how the machines suspension just seems to flow unrestricted over the demands of the track conditions. With the help of his Maxxis tires and Flexx bars, Kyler’s machine truly allows him to race a great race on quality equipment.
With a venue change for round 6, WORCS racing will take us to Central, Utah to On the Edge Raceway on June 15-17th. A new location for WORCS, this track looks fun and challenging bringing streams, rocks and of course lots and lots of dirt.
Congratulations to Kyler from everyone at Elka ! You rock !
