Tempe, AZ (04/19/2015) – Pro Motorsports’ Matt Hancock earned his third podium finish in the Pro-am ATV class at round five of the 2015 WORCS series at Sand Hollow State Park in Hurricane, UT and took a top five finish in Open A class as well. Jeff Hancock claimed a season best fourth place finish in the Pro class.
This round of the series was different as it was a true long-course style off road race with sand dunes, rock beds and even a paved section. The challenging course was rough but Matt Hancock was ready as he grabbed the holeshot. “My Maxxis tires hooked up great with my Sparks motor, which was great because it got dusty.” – said Hancock.
Hancock had his work cut out for him as he battled for a spot on the podium. Hancock was running in the second spot for most of the Pro-Am race, but the dropped back to third before the checkered flag for the final spot on the podium. “My pro Motorsports quad was working great out there. My Elka suspension worked good and my Tire Blocks really made a difference with all the rock sections. It was a tough race, and I am glad to be on the podium again.” – said Hancock.
This was Matt Hancock’s third podium finish in the Pro-am class, so far this season he has yet to finish outside of the top five in the Pro-Am class. Hancock’s consistency has him currently ranked second in WORCS Pro-Am class points.
In the Open A class, Hancock was second off the start and he rode a solid race to claim fifth at the checkered flag. Hancock is currently the points leader in Open A and just like in the Pro-am class, he has yet to finish outside of the top five.
In the Pro ATV class, Jeff Hancock was looking good early in the race, but a crash set him back. “At about mile marker two, there was a kicker on this one jump and it sent me over the bars. It took me a little while to get going again, and I was at the back of the pack.” – said Hancock.
Jeff Hancock continued to race and climbed his way into fourth place before crossing the finish line. “It was tough out there, and I am just glad to finish today. Hopefully things will go better at the next round.” – Hancock said.
Round six of the 2015 WORCS series will head to Cedar City, UT on May 22-24, where Matt and Jeff Hancock will be going for a spot on the podium in the final round before the summer break.
