“WORCS Round 5 took place at Cache Valley MX last weekend! The new venue made for a great track and a whole new experience for the WORCS family. The track beat in really well and was a super fast paced course. While being a very fast course, left no room for error. There was no time to gain out there, and only places to fall behind. My riding had to be very precise if I planned to advance/maintain my position.
I had a good jump out of the gate, and started 4th in the first turn. I kept the pressure strong and left Evan no room to breathe for the first couple of laps. I was battling too hard and started to make a couple mistakes. I regrouped and held my line.
Lap 4 came around and I came in for fuel. We made a 10 second pit. I got back on the track and had some ground to make up. I made up that time by the 6th lap, and sure enough there’s the white flag. I’d really thought Mike and Evan would stop for fuel, but they kept going with confidence.
At that point I ran out of time. I put down my two fastest laps in lap 6 and 7, but it wasn’t going to be enough. A little frustrating, but it is what it is. I made a bad call stopping for fuel. I’m glad I had a good enough start to maintain a 4th place finish.
Onto the next one. We’re more than halfway through the 2021 WORCS season after last weekend. There’s four races left on the schedule. My speed has been showing some big improvements and we have all summer long to train. I’ll be back swingin in Wickenburg, AZ for Round 6 of WORCS.”
