A “flawless dream ride” is just what the 1a ATV-PRO class team defined their Baja 1000 journey as, in an all-day domination over every other ATV and most pro dirtbikes in the field to finally come home with yet another win, crushing the ranks with an amazing 3rd overall-bike place! aboard another meticulously built Baja ATV Riders-Only TRX450R machine throughout one of the most grueling courses set in most recent years of this legendary Baja race.
Formed by its usual strong rider line-up, elite rider Javier Robles Jr. (rider of record) once again joined forces with seasoned San Felipe baja multi-champion Felipe Velez, along with young nephew and protege Jose Luis Meza Velez, fresh off his first ever WORCS pro-am win, as well as super fast San Diego rider Josh Row, once again showing this is an proven line-up.
As Robles started early on, led the way into the first few dusty hundred miles with the strong 7a team chasing a few minutes behind, only to stay focused and sharp at all times while making ground on the rest of the bikes in a thick cloud of dust. Then handing the bike to Row around mile 80, switching stints between the duo throughout the rest of day-light. Then when it was time to put the lights on, came the turn for the Velez duo as Felipe Velez blasted through the rough course handling the cold night and stretching the gap just enough to bring the quad way ahead to Meza Velez who carried on a clean ride pounding through long deep sand whoops on a flawless Roll Design-Elka set-up, and sealing the deal for one last stint from Javier Robles who crossed the finish line in 20:09 hr/min.
Things just could’t get any better for this Dream Team of seasoned riders who stretch this winning streak to hold the 1a plate for another 3rd straight year in this series!
