Hiram, Ohio 4-22-15 : They say everything is bigger in Texas and Round two of the Mountain Dew ATV MX National Championship did not disappoint. Vechery Racing was excited to return to the Underground MX facility after competing in the inaugural Caleb Moore memorial race in 2013.
With a strong start to the season Ronnie Higgerson was looking to build upon his results from round one. After timed qualifying Ronnie would find himself with the sixth gate pick heading into moto number one. The number six seems to be a lucky number for Higgerson this year as he would go onto finish with moto scores of seven-six for sixth overall on the weekend. Going into round three Ronnie currently sits tied in seventh in points and only three points out of sixth.
“We left Underground MX with a sixth overall this past weekend, not too bad but I want better! I Woke up Saturday with a sinus infection and not feeling well but pushed through it. It’s a good solid spot to build on so let’s see what we can get accomplished for round three. I can’t thank my sponsors, family and friends enough,” – exclaimed Higgerson.
Mount Sterling, Kentucky’s Casey Martin made the trek to Texas looking to put in two solid motos after having some electrical issues in Georgia. In moto number one Casey would find himself battling for a top ten finish on the two minute plus track. Casey would end up crossing the line in 11th. With the gate drop of moto number two Casey would once again find himself close to the top ten but would end up finishing in the 12th position giving him an overall score of 11th on the day.
“We are very happy with Casey’s finishes in the first two rounds of the series. Going from working 40 plus hours a week to driving all day to get to the races Casey is doing great as our fill in rider,” – stated team owner Gloria Vechery.
Vechery Racing/Never Sleep Designs Satellite support riders Alex Pafford and Bryce Barber once again had an eventful weekend. Alex would go on to finish sixth in Schoolboy Senior and Youth All Star. Bryce would go on to finish 13th in Open B and 18th in 450B.
“We had another solid weekend in Texas with all of our riders putting in great performances. Everyone is leaving the track healthy and ready for Muddy Creek. I say it every race but we can’t thank our sponsors enough for their support week in and week out,” – said team owner Gloria Vechery.
