Young racer Travis Sallee sent us this recap of his last epic weekend:
We started out on Friday April 1, 2016 at the Lake Elsinore Track to test my car for the Lucas Oil Regional Series and the Magnum Off Road Micro Punisher Polaris RZR 170 wasn’t moving through the course or the corners like it did at Pala Raceway. So my dad determined that it was a gearing issue. He pulled off the rear axle and changed my sprockets and that was a decision that paid off big time.
On Saturday April 2, 2016 we headed to qualifying with our fingers crossed that I would pilot my Magnum Off Road Micro Punisher into a good starting position and I was able to qualify 3rd out of 9 cars, only 7/10th of a second behind the lead car. The inversion would put me in the front row outside. With one full course yellow and two restarts I was able to pilot the Micro Punisher to our firstVICTORY at round 2 of the Lucas Oil Regional Series.
On Sunday April 3, 2016 we again headed to qualifying. Feeling the pressure to perform as well as I did the day before I headed out to staging and anxiously waited for the green flag to drop the Micro Punisher handled like the true champ it is. My Elka Suspension was set up perfect and we qualified 1st again the inversion worked out in my favor putting me again in the first row outside which for me was the faster line. Our GMZ Wheels and Tires grabbed the dirt and never let up. I was able to pilot the Micro Punisher to our Second VICTORY and sweep the weekend with my awesome machine.
Words can’t describe how much I appreciate your support for my program. Thank you Magnum Off Road for building me the nicest looking cage in the Production 170 Class. Thanks to Elka Suspension our shocks work outstanding. To GMZ Race Products our Wheels and Tires are top notch. It is an honor to represent the best in the business.
The entire staff at Elka are sending their congratulations to Travis. We look forward to see you develop into the future as a racer.
