H&M’s Davi Haagsma pulled his very first win in the WORCS Pro-Am class earlier this month in Toutle, Wa. Haagsma, who had to start off the back row, came from all the way back to win in the unfamiliar wooded atmosphere.
“We had a small mishap with a rear shock and sign-ups on Sunday, but Davi came from way back and laid down very consistent lap times to come away with the well deserved victory. He’s been training really hard and has gotten alot stronger over the last several months and we credit that to Vernie Ogden from Personal Edge Fitness (Davi’s trainer). All in all, it was a great weekend for our team.”
Allan McCostlin of H&M Team manager McCostlin gambled a bit as well and it ended up paying off.
“I could see Motowork’s Zimmerman coming into pit and I decided, “Well it’s now or never” so I elected to send Davi one extra lap before fueling. He was able to get around Dillon on hot pit and when he came back around for pit, we didn’t give him water, no goggles, just a splash of gas and go. It was enough to keep him out front for the remainder of the race.”
McCostlin H&M’s Justin Klinger continues to get faster in the B class and he will be back for Straddleline as well. Both Klinger and Haagsma are having a great year for the H&M crew…
