Wyatt #55 WORCS Round 5 Taft Race Report
Taft CA, probably the most anticipated race of the season, with the fast MX track and the 100 ft. plus step up jump that everyone wants to hit.
My Elka Suspension was “spot on” in practice requiring we make very little changes. Again, the testing we have been doing with our great sponsor Elka Suspension is really paying off. We concurred all the jumps and after seeing the whole track I could not have been more excited for the race.
For the first time this season, I did not get a good jump off the line and found myself a little hung up and bunched up at the back of the pack, not allowing me to do the jumps on the first lap. However, after getting spaced out and settled in, I found my rhythm and started hitting all of the jumps.
After a small mishap in lap 2 and despite the damage of a bent shock and broken exhaust, and the fact that I was missing the left side of my machine, I was still able to push on to a 9th place finish.
Personally, I have never had so much fun in my Elka Suspension Muzzy performance Polaris XP 900. I feel great that I left round 5 moving up one spot to 4th in overall points.
A special thank you to my shock tuner Doug Roll. Doug has amazing talent and his input to the Elka shock is invaluable. I fully believe we would not be 4th in points with out him. Thank Bro.
Thank you again to all of my great sponsors who are making this racing season possible. Elka Suspension, Muzzy’s, GBC, OMF, Dirty Dawg Performance, Rugged radio, and Simpson Racing.
